The palate is deep, savoury, and quietly wild, opening with black cherry, macerated raspberry, and dark plum skinbefore moving into a more brooding Jura core of dried herbs, rosehip, and gentle sous‑bois. Acidity is bright and nervy, giving the wine lift and tension, while tannins are fine, lightly firm, and more structural than in Derieux’s 2020 reds—2019 showing a touch more grip and savoury density. A faint volatile lift adds aromatic height without tipping into distraction. Notes of soft spice, crushed stone, and a whisper of earthy funk weave through the mid‑palate, which is silky yet grounded, carrying both purity and rustic charm.
