This cuvée is grown on the steep slopes of Schlossberg near the ruins of Château de Kaysersberg, giving it a linear, smoky mineral style compared to the rounder Altenbourg Pinot Noirs. The 2022 vintage is elegant and expressive, with aromas of summer flowers, red berries, and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s silky, juicy, and finely structured, with vibrant acidity, delicate tannins, and a long, savory finish. It’s aged in old oak barrels and shows the increasing finesse of Alsace Pinot Noir in a warming climate. Critics rate it 94–96/100 (Lobenberg) and 96/100 (James Suckling).
