Pyramid Valley North Canterbury Chardonnay

Sourced primarily from old-vine Mendoza Chardonnay at Waipara Springs in the Omihi clay soils of North Canterbury, with a small portion of first-crop fruit from Pyramid Valley’s organic Lowburn vineyard in Central Otago. Hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, the wine matured for 12 months in French oak (20% new) and concrete tulipe vessels, followed by four months on light lees in concrete before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

A poised, flinty Chardonnay showing savoury cashew and subtle nutty notes layered over ripe stone fruit and citrus, with a fine thread of salinity and mineral tension bringing freshness and length.
