Polperro Pinot Gris

This Gris comes from the Polperro ‘Mill’ and ‘Talland Hill’ vineyards, both planted in the early 1990s on north-facing slopes at 170–270m elevation, bringing a cooler, maritime edge and steady ripening. Handpicked fruit is whole bunch pressed through a gentle Champagne cycle, with no additions at the press, before oxidative handling early on. Fermentation occurs naturally in barrel with full solids, followed by time unsulfured through to the following summer, allowing for full malolactic conversion. 

Pear, nashi and soft spice sit over a savoury, finely textured palate. Time on solids adds quiet depth and breadth, though the wine remains fresh, precise and persistent.
