2017 Paradise IV Chardonnay
It’s a full-bodied Chardonnay that deliberately goes against the trend of light, neutral styles. Instead, it’s intense, aromatic, and layered.
On the nose and palate, it shows flavours and aromas of white peach and grapefruit, with creamy oak influences. Beneath that are secondary notes like dried flowers, nougat, and brioche, giving it a more complex, slightly savoury character.
The wine is described as evolving in the glass—meaning it changes and opens up as it sits. It’s rich, creamy, and fruit-driven, with a textured, almost gravel-like structure and a finish balanced by soft, gentle acidity.
Overall impression: bold, expressive, and intentionally opulent, with personality and polish. The only downside mentioned is that it’s hard to find due to limited availability.
