Makipai Chardonnay

The palate is ripe, rounded, and quietly coastal, opening with yellow peach, ripe nectarine, and lemon curd before a gentle wave of vanilla cream, soft spice, and toasted nut adds warmth from the oak. Acidity is fresh but not sharp, giving the wine a smooth, flowing line typical of Gisborne‑adjacent richness. The mid‑palate is silky, generous, and lightly textural, showing hints of grapefruit pith, melon, and subtle flinty mineral tension. A faint saline edge brings lift and keeps the fruit from feeling heavy. The finish is soft, dry, and medium‑long, leaving peach skin, citrus warmth, and a gentle nutty echo.
