King Arthur’s dog Cavall was said to have left his paw-print in a stone while he and Arthur were hunting the great Boar in Wales. Arthur honoured his canine friend by erecting a monument and placing the paw print stone on top. People would come and take the stone as a souvenir but the next day it would return to its rightful position, just as a dog will always return to its master. Grapes were harvested from 50-year-old vines on unique sandy loam low fertile soil in the central Barossa floor region. The resulting wine is full-bodied and shows rich and fragrant aromatics with intense red berry fruit, plums, and cloves. Aged for 3 years in 50% New French oak combined with a subtle tannin structure gives this wine the elegance it deserves.
