The palate is bright, spicy, and finely structured, opening with blackberry, dark plum, and boysenberry lifted by fresh, cool‑climate acidity that keeps the wine taut and energetic. Tannins are fine, graphite‑edged, and gently firm, giving shape without heaviness. The mid‑palate reveals notes of violet, black pepper, olive tapenade, and a subtle smoky‑mineral thread, showing classic Hawke’s Bay Syrah character with a lighter, more lifted Kenzie touch. The finish is long, dry, and savoury, leaving dark fruit, pepper spice, and a clean mineral echo.
