It opens with aromas of ripe citrus, yellow apple, white peach, and subtle struck‑match reduction, layered with flint, hazelnut, and gentle vanilla. Compared to richer Mâconnais styles, this cuvée is more mineral, more linear, and more terroir‑driven, reflecting the limestone‑rich Aux Quarts site. On the palate, it is vibrant, chalky, and textural, showing flavors of lemon, ripe stone fruit, pear, and citrus oil, supported by high acidity and a fine phenolic grip. The wine has both weight and precision, a signature of the Merlin–Lafon partnership.
