Calabria Bélena Sangiovese

The bottle is unusual for a red wine—some might say bizarre—but it sure is eye-catching. The Calabria family has a multitude of brands and labels: they are having a red-hot go.

Medium-depth ruby with a tinge of purple on the rim; there are floral and red fruit aromas, with some earthy/dried-herb nuances and a kiss of oak, the palate sweet on entry then shows a lean profile typical of this grape, the fine, savoury tannins filling in the back-palate and finish.
