In 2002 Greg Melick and fellow barrister Francis Douglas established Pinot Noir and Riesling on a frost free, north-east facing site in Tasmania's Coal River Valley at Tea Tree. Pressing Matters produces full flavoured Pinot Noir of exceptional complexity and length. This is one of the outstanding vintages. Powerful , concentrated fruit, complemented by characteristic savoury/meaty elements in a deliciously smooth and silky package. Red purple colour with black cherry and mocha bouquet. Bright sweet fruit buttressed by clean tannins and just starting to unfold. Elegant with great length and aging potential.
Awards:Trophy – The James Halliday Trophy for Best Pinot Noir .
