Pale pure white gold with starbright brilliance. Heightened aromatics so typical of this grape, but all at the grown-up end of the spectrum: spearmint, nettles, fresh white pepper, green herbs, celery leaves. Freshly cut Jonquils and Daffodils - and Wandering Dew trampled upon in those flowers’ collection. A fresh spring water’s texture and weight. Minerality and bath salts and a long long finish, which seems quite rounded before a more spicy and racy acidity takes over the back palate and after taste, where there is a final refrain of succulent fruit purity.Awards:
There is so much to love about Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc from 2021, which is the best vintage for some time for this variety. There is a beautiful brightness and purity of fruit to this example – guava and passionfruit with a pretty dusting of dried herbs. It leads to a juicy palate, the acidity bright and fresh but also beautifully integrated and silky with guava and melon fruits remaining subtle and elegant before a long and concentrated finish. Superb drinking for a hot Summer’s night.
