Giaconda Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir

Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: Beechworth
Vintage: 2019

Crimson in hue. A multifaceted bouquet of red fruits; raspberries, cherries and strawberries then roasted beets tied together by cola, briar and undergrowth notes. Lithe, fresh and long on the palate, the spicy oak combines with the red fruits to give a fine structure that augments elegant fruit and stem tannins. This wine is destined for the long haul, it doesn’t want to be rushed. Time served ageing this wine in bottle will ensure a glorious outcome and patience will be well rewarded.

Awards:
"Long and layered, slowly unfolding earthy, meaty scents of small berries, citrus oil, sweet cherries and underbrush. Becoming smooth and velvety, its pristine palate effortlessly combines small berry, plum and cherry flavour with tight-grained polished oak and slatey tannins, finishing with drive, balance and a savoury aspect."Jeremy Oliver
Australian Wine Annual
2017 Estate Pinot Noir
"There is a tussle between the crabapple and red cherry fruits on the one hand, and firm, savoury tannins on the other. Rick is a realist, knowing he can't make a pinot as good as this every year."James Halliday
Australia Wine Companion
2015 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
"Artfully balanced and focused, this exceptional pinot reveals a deeply floral and earthy bouquet whose heady perfume of dark cherries, plums and charcuterie meat undertones reveals cranberry-like nuances. It’s long and elegant..."Jeremy Oliver
