Elderton Ode To Lorraine CSM

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot
Region: Barossa Valley
Vintage: 2017

Rich and sophisticated, Dark ruby in colour. Ripe plum, dark chocolate with hints of sage aroma. Abundant fruits of the forest on the palate, with spice and nuances of leather. The wine has a distinctive silken tannin line to finish, owing to the structural tannins of the old vine Cabernet Sauvignon component on palate. Drink now or cellar confidently for 15+ years

It’s a blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and merlot, which all come from Nuriootpa. It has a delicious sweet plummy blackcurrant fruit intensity, balanced with some nice sappy oak with a little cedary character. It’s very long in the mouth with a delicious, sweet fruit character. Sinewy tannins thread through the ripe fruit, leading into a dry, focussed finish. This is one of the best yet under this label.
