Glaetzer Anaperenna is a seamless fusion of the two varieties Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined, with a very long and satisfying finish. The name Anaperenna has been inspired by Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the New Year. Anna Perenna symbolises the year's cycle and her name translates as 'enduring year'. Romans honoured Anna Perenna with a festival held on the first full moon of the Roman calendar. On March 15th they would ask Anna to grant them longevity, and a healthy year for each glass of wine they drank on that day. The symbol on the label is the Egyptian Ankh (pronounced: onk). Historically the ankh symbolised sunrise, regeneration, regrowth and renewal. Dark purple hues frame a depth of black. Complex layers of black fruits with a slight herbal lift and notes of anise spice. Hints of dark cherry and dried spice with seamlessly integrated tannin. A wine that will mature extremely well with long term cellaring up to 20 years.Awards:
For the 2018 Anaperenna ShirazCabernet Sauvignon, Glaetzer blended in 18% Cabernet Sauvignon to give the wine increased fragrance and length.
The nose is smoky, slightly herbal and marked by sweet cedar-and vanillatinged oak, but it also offers great cassis and blackberry fruit. Full-bodied,
rich and concentrated, the flavors are kept nicely in check by fine-grained tannins. This wine has it all: terrific intensity, complexity, length and texture.

82% shiraz (30-100yo vines), 18% cabernet sauvignon (30-130yo vines) yielding 2.5t/ha, open-fermented, hand-plunged, matured for 16 months
in new hogsheads (92% French, 8% American). Full-bodied, plum blackberry, supple tannin, good oak. Easy to argue this is too cheap.
